Title:
World integrated nuclear evaluation system [electronic resource] : WINES
- Distribution Media: 5 1/4" floppy diskette
- SuDoc Number: E3.51/2:
Abstract:
The Nuclear and Alternate Fuels Division (NAFD) of the Energy Information
Administration (EIA) produces and publishes a number of reports including
Commercial Nuclear Power 1991: Prospects for the United States and the
World, DOE/EIA-0438(91) (CNP). The primary repository for energy and
economic data used to produce nuclear capacity projections is contained
in the World Integrated Nuclear Evaluation System (WINES). WINES projects
nuclear capacity resulting from Upper- and Lower- Reference case scenarios
for individual countries.
Users of these data are advised to refer to the printed report
"Commercial Nuclear Power 1991: Prospects for the United States
and the World" (DOE/EIA-0438, see Related Publications below) for
an in in depth discussion and documentation of the WINES model.
Extent of Collection: The distribution media contained
a DOS WordPerfect installation manual, a DOS executable file,
DOS ASCII fortran source code for the executable, and two DOS ASCII
reference case scenario files.
Data Conversion:
The DOS WordPerfect documentation was translated to PDF format.
The DOS executable was run according to the directions in the installation
manual and three output files were created. Extraneous ASCII characters
were removed from the main data file WINE2123 and the file was saved with
a .CSV file extension. For more information about data conversion, see
File Processing and Quality Control.
Minimum Software Requirements:
(1) Software capable of reading portable document files (PDF), such as
Adobe Acrobat Reader. (2) Statistical software
capable of importing ASCII CSV data files.
Files: DOS ASCII files contain carriage return characters. ASCII files do not
contain carriage return characters. For information about downloading these files, see
Downloading Tips.
