Abstract: This data collection contains 20 tables from Appendix B
of the Energy Information Administration's annual report, "Performance
Profiles of Major Energy Producers" from 1977 to 1992.
Extent of Collection: The distribution media contained a DOS ASCII text
table guide and 20 DOS Lotus (.WK1) data tables.
Data Conversion: Extraneous DOS ASCII characters were removed from the
table guide. The "fixed" guide was saved with a .TXT file extension. The DOS Lotus
123 data tables were translated to ASCII CSV format. For more information about
data conversion,
see File Processing and Quality Control.
Minimum Software Requirements: (1) Software capable of reading ASCII
text files. (2) Statistical software capable of importing ASCII CSV data tables.
- ASCII text - text files can be read by most file viewers and
word processing software.
- ASCII data - text data files can be imported into most
statistical and database software. Data values may or may not
use separators. Common separators are commas (ASCII CSV), tabs
or spaces.
Files: DOS ASCII files contain carriage return characters. ASCII files do
