Title: Natural gas annual [electronic resource]
- Distribution Media: 5 1/4" floppy diskettes
- SuDoc Number: E3.11/2-10:
Abstract:
The Natural Gas Annual (NGA) data files contain the data that appear in the
tables in the Energy Information Administration (EIA) Natural Gas Annual
publications, 1988, vol.2, 1989, 1990 vol.1-2 and 1992 vol.1-2. To fully understand and
utilize these data, it is recommended that the printed publication be used
as a reference. Appendix A of the printed documentation provides detailed
information on the data sources and collection methods.
Extent of Collection: The distribution media contained DOS ASCII text
documentation files and DOS ASCII CSV data files. The UCSD 1988 Volume 2
distribution diskette was not readable. The files on this diskette were obtained
from the
Floppy Disk Project at Indiana University.
Data Conversion: Extraneous DOS ASCII characters were removed from the
documentation and data files. The "fixed" documentation files were saved
with .TXT file extensions. The "fixed" data files were renamed with .CSV file
extensions. Three original diskette data files are corrupted. For more information
about data conversion, see
File Processing and Quality Control.
Minimum Software Requirements: (1) Software capable of reading ASCII
text files. (2) Statistical software capable of importing ASCII CSV files.
- ASCII text - text files can be read by most file viewers and
word processing software.
- ASCII data - text data files can be imported into most
statistical and database software. Data values may or may not
use separators. Common separators are commas (ASCII CSV), tabs
or spaces.
Files: DOS ASCII files contain carriage return characters. ASCII files do
not contain cariage return characters. For information about downloading these
files, see Downloading Tips.
