Acknowledgement of ICPSR Assistance |
Those receiving data are strongly urged to inform the Archive of any
errors and discrepancies that are discovered during the course of using
these data. They are further urged to bring to the attention of the Archive
all problems and difficulties encountered in using these data, particularly
those difficulties which prevented effective and convenient utilization.
This information is necessary in order to improve the collections and to
facilitate more efficient and economical processing and retrieval facilities.
The users are asked to supply copies of any missing data that may be located,
and to provide information as to significant subsets and special aggregations
of data that are developed in using the material provided.
All manuscripts utilizing data made available through the Consortium
should acknowledge that fact as well as identify the original collector
or the data source. The ICPSR Council urges all users of ICPSR data facilities
to follow some adaptation of this statement with the parentheses indicating
items to be filled in appropriately or deleted by the individual user.

In order to provide funding agencies with essential information about
the use of archival resources, and to facilitate the exchange of information
about ICPSR participants' research activities, each user of the ICPSR data
facilities is expected to send two copies of each completed manuscript
(or thesis abstract) to the Consortium. Please indicate in the cover letter
which data were used.
