Final Reports - Final reports present summary analysis and data (figures and tables) that document the reduction in smoking prevalence following the increase in the tobacco excise tax and implementation of a comprehensive California Tobacco Control Program that was funded by the voter sponsored Tobacco Tax Initiative (Proposition 99 of 1988).

Technical Reports - Technical reports provide descriptions of survey methodology and copies of the survey questionnaires. The survey questionnaires should be consulted for information on the exact wording of survey questions and for skip patterns. The questionnaires also show coded values for each variable. During the course of data collection and processing, additional values may have been added to the variables. The 1996 and 1999 technical reports include the codebooks in vol. 2.

Many reports are available in Adobe PDF format. Adobe Acrobat Reader software is free and can be downloaded at the Adobe web site. For those reports converted from printed versions, the page numbers on the thumbnails (miniature views of the pages shown in the document) do not match those at the bottom of each page.
